Humdrum

via Daily Prompt: Partake

We all need to be inspired by something or someone in order for our lives to be full and enriched. Peter Gabriel wrote the song “Humdrum” and it’s all too easy to become like this employee or passenger in the song, trapped within everyday existence. Thus.

“I saw the man at JFK. He took your ticket yesterday in the humdrum. In the humdrum.”

What do we need to escape from this? Stimulus. Creativity. A blog. Partake in an activity. Imagination.

Take Heed

via Daily Prompt: Warning

My mother wrapped the two coins in paper and sellotaped it all together. She then placed it securely in the zipped pocket in the inside of my school blazer. That money was only to be used in an emergency in case I missed my train  and had to make contact home.

Weeks later I’m standing in the same place in the kitchen, my mother’s warning ringing in my ears and no money wrapped in paper. My mother is furious, but all my friends had crisps and lemonade for the train home.

Poison Pen

via Daily Prompt: Toxic
